The state of Oregon has five summits that measure more than 10,000 feet and all of them are located in the Cascade Mountain Range. Oregon’s tallest peak, Mount Hood, is 11,235 feet tall and a dormant volcano with over a dozen glaciers. It was named after British Admiral Hood and was first climbed in 1857. Mount Jefferson (10,497 feet), South Sister (10,358 feet), North Sister (10,085 feet), and Middle Sister (10,047 feet) round out the remaining peaks over 10,000 feet in height.
