Minimum age for Kennebec trips is 10 years old, 8 years old for lower Kennebec. Minimum age for Penobscot trips is 14 years old, 12 years old for lower Penobscot. These two great rivers vary in difficulty, so be sure to choose the river that is best for your family. The Kennebec River is Class III-IV, the Upper Penobscot is Class IV-IV+ white water. The Penobscot below the Cribworks is Class III white water. We do have some alternatives for younger kids, call us or visit Family Adventures to learn more.
