On day 3 of your trip, we will fly you by float plane to beautiful, scenic and serene Solitude Island Retreat where you will have the afternoon, evening and overnight to enjoy a special piece of remote Alaska all to your lonesome! It’s your own little cozy cabin on a 4 acre island in the heart of a beautiful wilderness lake! Solitude Island Retreat is a privately-owned, remote fly-in wilderness vacation destination (https://www.wildernessplacelodge.com/island).The cabin has electricity and climate control heat with a twin and queen bed with comfy memory foam mattresses in the upstairs loft. The cabin is located just a stone-throw from the lake shore and our large floating dock. Easy access for all!
This is a peaceful do-it-yourself wilderness retreat ideally for couples with space available for a child or two upon request. This is an extremely unique experience and a comfortable way to see real remote Alaska. This takes "Glamping" to a whole new level. The cabin does not have running water or indoor plumbing. Note this is glamorous camping in a nice, new cabin but not quite all the luxuries of home. There is a nice outhouse with a view and we will provide you with ample drinking water and all your food and beverages. We provide a guide to planning your meals well in advance of your trip so we can cater accordingly.
Enjoy peddle boating or kayaking around the lake, photographing loons, fishing for northern pike, sunning on the giant float plane dock, sipping wine on the covered porch with epic views of the lake and Beluga mountain, or simply painting or sketching the landscape. Why bother with an Anchorage hotel or bed and breakfast when you can have this experience? After a restful overnight in the cabin, your float plane will return to pick you up dockside in front of your cabin for the beautiful flight back to Anchorage.

Begin your adventure with a scenic 45 minute float plane flight departing Anchorage's renowned Lake Hood seaplane base. Arrive at Wilderness Place Lodge in time for lunch provided by the professional chef team of 3. Following a brief orientation, hit the river with your guide to target a variety of fish species. We include all spin and fly fishing gear and instruction/classes for all abilities. Wilderness Place Lodge is a highly reviewed all-inclusive fishing lodge with deluxe private cabins with bath, a gorgeous log lodge, a courteous staff of 18 that hosts an average number of 15 guests. After a few days of experiencing the river, fishing, hiking, wining and dining; you will fly with your guide to a small lake just north of the lodge. Here you will find the historic Pioneer Cabin Wilderness Retreat. This unique property is located right on the banks of a remote lake with a short trail that accesses our river. Enjoy fine Alaska "glamping," r&r, lake kayaking, swimming, hiking, river fishing and lakeside campfires while your experience a day and a night at this special destination. Following your stay at the Pioneer cabin, your guide will inflate the raft and you will float and fish a full day back down to Wilderness Place Lodge for a few hours to hit the showers prior to catching your float plane back to Anchorage.

Our deluxe fishing lodge offers all-inclusive Anchorage day-fishing trips for as low as $499 per person! We include all the gear and team you up with a personable fishing guide to attend to your every need. Enjoy a scenic 45 minute float plane flight over the Susitna River valley northwest of Anchorage, Alaska. On clear days, Mt. Denali (McKinley) is clearly visible to the north. Arrive at our fly-in river lodge approximately 8:30am and hit the water fishing for the day. We provide lunch on the river, all fishing equipment (spin and fly fishing), waders, flies and lures so no need to bring anything. It's that easy!
Day fishing trips focus on Alaska river fishing for trout, grayling, northern pike or various salmon species depending on the time of summer you visit. After your time experiencing Wilderness Place Lodge including fishing, hiking, wining and dining, you will return to Anchorage by float plane in time to meet your shuttle to the Knik River Lodge, approximately 1 hour North. The Knik River Lodge is a high-quality wilderness lodge at the end of the road within the scenic Knik River Valley. Here you will meet your Helicopter guide and embark on a once-in-a-lifetime Heli-Glacier experience into one of the most impressive glacial ice fields in all of Alaska.
