For families trying to escape the hustle and bustle, there is not much further west you can go than Gearhart by the Sea.

Gearhart by the Sea is a relaxing retreat on the Oregon Coast. The accommodations vary from single bedroom suites to three bedroom condominiums that sleep up to six. Across the street from the rooms is the historic Kelly House where the main offices are. Rebuilt in 2000 since the original building burned down, the Kelly House also features a Pro Shop and a restaurant. Back behind the Kelly House is the golf course. The Gearhart Golf Links is an 18-hole course that opened in 1892. Rent some clubs and a cart and get the whole family involved! Also nearby is the small town of Astoria which has a selection of revitalized 1920’s era shops, restaurants, and theaters. To get a better sense of the town, take the Astoria Riverfront Trolley where you will be able to listen to local experts narrate the highlights of the tour as you are bussed around. As guessed, Gearhart by the Sea is also on the Pacific Ocean where you can go swimming or stroll the beaches and collect seashells. The Oregon Coast is perfectly captured in all it’s beauty here!
