We know we’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again. We just cannot skip over options for your Vail home sweet home. Our No. 8 property is for those with an eye for sprawling space and sumptuous style. Allow us to introduce Peak Properties!

Peak Properties is not an average vacation, an average rental or average service; in fact, it’s an above average vacation rental service. One example of the attention they pay to fine details concerning your comfort is your first welcome. Instead of simply giving you a set of keys, a map and a holler of “good luck,” a personal Peak Properties concierge meets you at your residence, helps you with your baggage, gives you a detailed travel itinerary and a full home tour. But we're sure you want to hear about the residences! We were blown away by the 5,800-sq.-ft. Tyrolean Chalet. Once the famous Tyrolean Restaurant, two open-floor residences sleep 10 in the highest of fashion. It did retain one feature of its beginnings: the commercial grade kitchen – but with upgrades like granite counters and a large entertaining space.

Related activities

Enjoy Vail’s scenic beauty to its fullest – Nordic skiing, ice climbing, rock climbing or fly fishing. Whatever the outdoors lover inside of you can’t wait to do, let the personal concierge organize your itinerary. All you have to do is indulge in some serious Colorado fun!

Fun facts

Two of Peaks Properties residences, The Tyrolean Chalet and One Willow Bridge Penthouse No. 403, were featured in the December 2008 issue of Departures Magazine, a world-wide luxury lifestyle magazine.

We’re sure you’re asking what could our No. 10 Vail Winter Getaway have that the other nine don’t? And we’re excited to say – family! This family-owned Vail luxury lodge has all the touches of home with that distinct Colorado style.

The first step into Tivoli Lodge is far from the cold, detached feeling of a hotel lobby – it is more appropriately akin to a familiar mountain home living room. A floor-to-ceiling fireplace, oversized chairs and a leather sofa that you know without a doubt that you can set yourself down in and relax for as long as you’d like. The rooms give off the vibe of your own secure room with plush beds and soft sheets, but are also paired with world-class amenities like Turkish robes and bath towels and sweeping views of Gore Range, Golden Peak and Vail Mountain. But, with an average of more than 300 days of sunshine a year in Vail, don’t stay inside too long! Start the day off with a complimentary Tivoli breakfast and a soak in one of two outdoor mountain-view hot tubs. Feel the warmth stay with you throughout your day of skiing, hiking or downtown Vail shopping.

Tivoli Lodge is located on the corner of Hanson Ranch Road and Vail Valley Drive.

When some people hear “Vail, Colorado getaway” may conjure up images of pitching tents and heating up food over a fire in the middle of a pine and aspen forest with the mountains looming over them. Well, our No. 9 spot is here to assure you there are more luxurious ways to spend your Vail trip.

An icon of luxury in Vail Valley, The Lodge at Vail is the fanciest version of a rustic CO lode we’ve seen – and we like it. We couldn’t think of anywhere else we’d rather be than in a Lodge at Vail guest room, sitting in a high-backed leather chair or snuggled in our soft terrycloth robe and slippers with a cup of coffee made in the comfort of our own room. Well, there is one other place – the signature and famed Wildflower Restaurant. With a menu described as eclectic and creative American cuisine, The Wildflower is one of the area’s only restaurants to offer a tasting menu, but we suggest sampling an entire meal with a glass of wine. There is one more thing to order: an in-room massage to top it all off!

Highlights

Others have been noticing The Lodge at Vail’s impeccable accommodations and service, too! The Lodge at Vail was awarded the AAA Four-Diamond award for lodging and dining at The Wildflower. The Wildflower was also the recipient of the Distinguished Restaurants of North America for the 15th consecutive year.

Getting there

If you decide to travel by train, Amtrak is 40 miles from Vail and takes scenic routes through the breathtaking Glenwood Canyon to historic Glenwood Springs and to Denver.

Fun facts

Vail, Colorado was founded by two former members of the 10th Mountain Division from World War II, Peter Seibert and Earl Eaton. Upon arriving at the summit of a mountain they were climbing, Vail was born and that mountain is now known as Vail Mountain.

Vail Mountain Lodge and Spa is tucked amidst high treetops and rugged terrain, but is located in the heart of Vail Village. This Rocky Mountain timber lodge houses such rest-inspiring amenities as rich wood trim, soft colors, deep soaking tubs and heated floors in rooms to soothe the body and mind.
