Getting there

You will fly commercially into the city of Kodiak Alaska at your expense. Typical 5 day 6 night clients will be picked up in Kodiak on the Sunday of their arrival at approximately 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM for transport to Port Lions Lodge.

The lodge is situated on the southeast shore of Saltery Lake, which is located on Kodiak Island about 2 miles inland from Ugak Bay and Saltery Cove.

Vacationing is about trying new things- why not try your hand at fly fishing at Whale Pass Lodge?

Normal rod and reel fishing is, of course, just as popular here, but to truly take advantage of Whale Pass Lodge's wealth of surrounding streams, you gotta throw on some overalls and wade out into the shallows! The knowledgeable staff can coach you in the ways of the fly, so don't worry if you're totally inexperienced. It's the best way to wrangle some Red Salmon (in June), Pink Salmon (in July), and Silver Salmon (in August and September). You'll have to provide your own gear, but believe us when we tell you- it's worth it!
