Minnesota is known as "The Land of 10,000 Lakes" for good reason: there are only four counties in the entire state without one. Chief among these lakes is the mighty Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in North America. Couples have been flocking to its shores for decades, to experience its beauty, wildlife, and the natural romance that accompanies it. This permeates Minnesota as a whole, and romantic getaways have sprung up throughout the state. These resorts, lodges, and inns serve to enhance that romance through excellent hospitality, superior dining experiences, and luxurious accommodations for you and your partner.

Regardless of the time of year, Gunflint Lodge will have something fun awaiting your honeymoon or romantic getaway!

Based on the aptly named Gunflint Lake, Gunflint bases its offered amenities and experience on the current season. While some things (like comfy cabins, fantastic hospitality, and delicious meals all day) are constants, the programming can definitely vary. In the spring, the main activity is hiking. See what Superior has to offer, and go observe some of the native animals along the Gunflint Trail. Chipmunks, loons, and even bald eagle can be observed at different points during the spring. If you don’t feel like walking, the horse stables open in early May for your riding pleasure. Summer offers the opportunity to be as lazy as possible. Go fishing for smallmouth bass, or pick some wild strawberries. Fall brings moose calling! Go out in a group and remember your camera, cause there’s moose afoot. Finally, winters around Gunflint are known for their snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cozying up to a crackling fire.
