The Trail Shop Restaurant and Inn's location on the edge of the Shoshone National Forest provides guests with access to world-class elk and mule deer hunting. For the months of September and October, Trail Shop offers a hunting package that includes a six-night stay. All you need to do is prove the validity of your Wyoming hunting license.

Trail Shop was originally built as a stagecoach shop in 1922 by Wiley Sherwin at the edge of the Wapiti Valley as the ideal pit-stop for travelers to unwind, indulge in a drink or meal, and enjoy the mountain surroundings. As the travelers continue to come and the demand grew, Sherwin added more buildings to accommodate guests. The shop and inn have undergone many other additions over the years, such as the dining room and bar. It continues to be a great home-base for Yellowstone travelers of all kinds!
Accommodations at the Trail Shop Restaurant and Inn consist of nine recently-renovated guest rooms and two rental homes. Room configurations are variable enough to cater to most group sizes.
