Deer Haven Acres

Your family and friends will be sure to have fun in the sun at Deer Haven Acres. Maybe you will enjoy a game of volleyball in their sand court or pitch some horseshoes in our pits. Try tossing beanbags through the holes! Whatever your game is, football, baseball, soccer etc. you will find ample outdoor space to play what you like to play! How about enjoying a swim in their private pond? Maybe you would like to paddle around in their paddle boat or row yourself in their rowboat. Or maybe just maybe you may want to relax and float on their aqua patio while you bask in the sun and sip on a refreshing beverage. And remember you don’t have to worry if it’s a rainy day because you always have all the fun and games waiting for you inside the bar/game room! If you are here during the time of year when the pond is frozen, you and your family and friends can still have a lot of fun. You could bring a pair of ice skates and glide across their pond, or drill a couple of holes and reel in some fish. Maybe you have snowshoes and you would like to take a refreshing walk along their trails! You could enjoy renting one of the Deer Haven Acres snowmobiles if you feel a need for speed! And you could always visit a nearby ski hill and ski or tube down those slopes and then come back and nestle into their luxurious lodge and warm yourself up with hot chocolate or slipping into the hot tub!

If you need to feed a large group during your stay their State of the Art Kitchen with all of the amenities allows you to do just that! It features stainless steel appliances, 7 burner ceramic top range, dual ovens, food warmer, dishwasher, microwave, nascos, griddles, coffee pots, all dinnerware, cookware, bakeware and paper ware are provided. If outdoor cooking is your choice you may use their 4 charcoal Weber Grills along with their outdoor cooking utensils. All you need to provide is the food and the charcoal! Or maybe you want to be even a little more “outdoorsy”! You can always put the grate over the fire pit and grill out that way! ( And of course don’t forget to bring the marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers!) However, it is your vacation and maybe you choose not to cook at all! Catering is available upon request, just check with the Manager.

Observe the beauty of whitetail deer as they stroll around in their mile wide preserve or enjoy petting and feeding them in the private deer park. An abundance of wildlife awaits you at Deer Haven Acres. You may see geese and ducks swimming in the pond, cranes flying in for a landing in the park to enjoy a meal with the deer. Numerous birds can be viewed and if you are lucky you may view the ultimate as you watch the Great American Bald Eagle swoop down to catch a fish and soar away with it! Yep, that’s Nature at its Finest!

Grab yourself one of their fishing poles and catch and release some of the fish in the fully stocked pond! You may reel in walleye, bass, bluegill, trout or perch. You’ll be sure to have a great experience while fishing as a whitetail deer walks up a long side of you to say hello! And keep in mind that those fish are still waiting to be caught even if the pond is frozen!

When you walk into their luxurious lodge you will be walking into the main level featuring a 35 foot cathedral ceiling displaying amazing hand painted murals with each a unique story of their own. Enjoy the open concept Great Room, Dining Room and a State of The Art Kitchen on this level along with a Master Suite with its own private bathroom including a luxurious Jacuzzi tub as well as two other large bedrooms and a full bath which is handicap accessible. Laundry facilities are provided for you on this level as well! Take a walk upstairs to the upper level of the lodge and you will experience a beautiful sitting room which overlooks the main floor or maybe you will step outside through the French doors onto the upper deck which overlooks 238 acres of nature at its finest! Once you take in the beauty and awe of the experience you can step back inside and walk into the Theatre Room featuring a 12 foot projection television where you can gather and view a show of your choice! You will also find 2 large spacious bedrooms for your use on this level. Now, it’s time to stroll downstairs to the lower level of the lodge where you can experience fun and MORE FUN! Their luxurious bar/game room offers you and your guests to shoot pool, play shuffleboard, throw darts, play Texas Holdem, Black Jack or any game of cards you like at their 7 person card table, or try your luck at their pull slots machine! Maybe you just want to cozy up at the spacious bar equipped with a refrigerator and an ice machine and swap stories or share fond memories with your family and friends. If you would rather share those stories outdoors you can take a few steps from the bar through the French doors and step into the 8 person hot tub to share those memories while watching the whitetail deer in their privately owned deer park. When you are ready for a good night’s sleep you will find 2 luxurious, spacious bedrooms along with a full bath on this level also. Laundry facilities are available for your use too!

Do you know these 2 gentlemen standing in front of their cabin? I’ll give some clues about the gentleman on the right. He used to play football, he was a quarterback and he was awesome at it. He loved to wear the number 4! If you couldn’t guess… I’ll tell you it’s Brett Farve! YES! Brett and a few of his friends stayed here a couple of times, not to play football but to relax and enjoy. We look forward to his return some day. Oh and by the way, the shorter guy standing next to Brett that’s the owner Bob Marx. Bob had a dream at the age of 12 to have a lodge and to raise whitetail deer. This all stemmed back to one day on his way home from school he saw a fawn trying to get milk from its mother who had been killed by a car and died. “Bobby” took the fawn home and his mother and father (Betty and Richard) allowed him to bottle feed her. Little Bobby was successful at nurturing the fawn and it grew in to adult hood. Bob’s dream came true as you can see! So why don’t you come and stay at Deer Haven Acres and enjoy Bob’s dream!
