A Peaceful and Elegant Oregon Getaway
In the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley wine country, five lovely loft units combine history with modern comforts in a building that was initially constructed by the Masons in 1905. Amity Flats feature tastefully decorated rooms that highlight the original brick walls and high ceilings with exposed beams. Keeping in mind to preserve the authenticity of the building, ultra-high efficiency windows were custom-crafted during the last renovation of the building in 2014. Also, the bed frames were hand-crafted from wood that was reclaimed from the original building. When you stay at Amity Flats, you experience an eccentric and authentic lodging experience lost in time. Each room is named after locally-famous vineyard soil. Whether you choose to stay in Yamhill, Nekia, or fancy Jory, a kitchenette, high-speed wireless internet, and luxurious, high-thread-count sheets are part of your amenities. If you ever decide to leave your loft, you can rent a bike and explore nearby vineyards.
VIsit the Erratic Rock State Natural Site for a 0.2-mile easy hike along a paved trail to the top of the hill past a vineyard and orchard. The walk provides excellent bird-watching opportunities. The chances for photography vary from nature-focused to landscape. Once you reach the end of the trail, the famous rock sits at the end of the path, just over the incline.
It's time to disconnect from your hectic life for a week or weekend and reconnect with the love of your life. Indulge in Amity Flats' cozy suite, Jory, which features a semi-private bedroom with a queen bed, and a large window and an exposed antique brick on the south wall. There you will also find a clawfoot bathtub next to a modern, walk-in shower enclosed by glass bricks. Don't forget to request a welcome package of wine, chocolates, and fruit upon your arrival!
The building was developed by the Masons in 1905, and it's the oldest and one of the largest commercial brick buildings in downtown Amity. The Amity Flats feature an open-face brick wall laid more than 100 years ago by Amity’s Masonic fraternity. The chandeliers that once lit the fraternity's meetings have been restored to modern electrical standards and re-dedicated to light the hallway. In 2014, serious renovation efforts began, and ultra-high efficiency windows were custom-crafted to retain the authentic look of the 1905 originals, with a nod to European functionality. Nowadays, the building is home to Amity Flats and welcomes travelers of all ages!
