Mitchell’s Lodge & Cottages have been a part of Highlands, North Carolina history since 1939. For three generations, the Cedar Lodge, Original Log Lodge, and Mitchell cabins have seen the Highlands grow from a small mountain town to an exclusive resort town which offering quaint shops and specialty boutiques, summer theatre, art galleries, chamber music, and exquisite dining all alongside some of the most scenic natural beauty in the world.

Get the perfect golf getaway and stay at the Mitchell’s Lodge & Cottages near six courses including Sky Valley Resort & Country Club, Trillium Links & Village, and Bald Rock Mountain in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains at the center of the Lake Toxaway, Cashiers, and Highlands resort areas.

Destine to fall for one of eight waterfalls like Bridal Veil Falls, a picturesque fall whose 120 ft. cascading curtain you can even drive beneath. A pleasant 45 minute drive through Horse Cove and over the Chattooga River on your way to Whitewater will bring you to Whitewater Falls, the highest waterfalls in the eastern United STates at 411 ft.

Mitchell's cottages, like the Pine or Hemlock, offer privacy, comfort and beautiful surroundings a short stroll from downtown Highlands. Rooms and suites filled with log furniture, cathedral ceilings with beautiful wooden beams, and a stacked stone gas log fireplace can be found at the Cedar Lodge. Looking for all the comforts of home? Try the Original Log Lodge, built by owner Al’s Grandmother in 1939.
