Singletree Lodge & Cabins

Singletree has three cabins available to families. The Bear’s Den (2 bedroom) is a 1950’s log cabin in a Woodland grove. Innisfree (2 bedroom) is a cottage with oriental rugs and upscale charm. Windblow (3 bedroom, 2 bath) has sweeping views and a grand covered porch. Cabins have fully-equipped kitchens and linens in place. Singletree offers a “digital detox” vacation where families disconnect from technology, and reconnect with family and friends. Families are invited to play on the huge lawn of the Lodge, play croquet, throw the football, fly kites by day, and enjoy the evenings around the large fire­pit, or star­gaze at night. Hiking to the river with a beach chair and lunch is a popular activity. Kayaking/canoeing, tubing, zip-lining, horse trail riding, chasing waterfalls, and row boating in the Lake are all nearby.

For companies/corporations, Singletree offers an intimate, exciting, adventuresome venue for corporate outings. Surrounded by stunning vistas of the Blue Ridge mountains, and private trails to the gorgeous Dan River, Singletree is one of the most unusual and lovely locations for business, family, church, or wellness retreats in North Carolina. For team­-building activities there are varieties of options that can be included in your customized retreat package: kayaking, tubing, ropes course, rock climbing, horse ­trail riding, hiking, golf, fly-fishing. As a meeting place you will be treated to beautiful views of Moore’s Knob and the Saura Mountains as well as the Blue Ridge, instead of the boring parking lot view offered by most meeting venues. They can comfortably fit 40 people in their beautiful conference room. The quiet solitude of the woodland cabins, or the gracious porches and sitting rooms of the Big Lodge are designed for the enjoyment of the nature lover. Whether folks choose to hike the private trail system of the property in solitude, chase waterfalls in the adjacent State Park with friends, kayak the river with family or sit on the porch with a good book; one finds the peace and serenity that only nature affords.

The Dan River is home to Smallmouth Bass and the native Redbreast Sunfish. The Dan River is a healthy stream with a population of crayfish and baitfish to support the small mouth bass. Try your hand at fly fishing while staying here! Ask about special fishing packages that the lodge offers.

Singletree caters to the discriminating individual who can appreciate the uncultivated, rugged terrain which remains unchanged and timeless. The five miles of riverfront are of particular concern and Singletree is aggressive in protecting the riparian buffers and riverbanks. Only guests of Singletree are permitted to responsibly wander in this fragile wilderness.

The Sauratown Mountain range in north-central North Carolina is unique and unusual since it is the only mountain range in the USA contained within the borders of one county. And, a river runs through it! The award winning, popular Hanging Rock State Park covers almost 8000 acres of the range. A recreational corridor has grown up around the park, and Singletree Gun & Plough is proud to be a part of it. Mountain biking, mountain climbing, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, zip lining, horse trail riding, riverside golf, fly­fishing, and bird­watching are some of the available activities.

Singletree Gun & Plough features three cozy cabins to choose from if you're looking for a little more privacy on your North Carolina vacation. Their cabins range in style and size but area all beautifully furnished with full kitchens, cozy living spaces, and a variety of amenities including gas grills, fire pit, screened porch, and more. Their cabins do not have televisions, and instead feature old fashioned and current board games to keep you entertained. It's the perfect way to really unplug and relax on your vacation!
