The C.W. Worth House was built in 1893 by wholesale grocery merchant Charles W. Worth. Charles' grandfather, Jonathan Worth, was the governor of North Carolina nearly 200 years ago! Charles purchased the lot in 1889, and finished building the marvel four years later. Architecturally, the C.W. Worth House is a unique combination of 16th century French chateau and 19th century English Queen Anne.
