Lake Amelia is known for fine crappie, sunfish, and bass fishing. The resort offers boat rentals that make it easy to get out onto the water for your fishing trip. All of the RV sites at Shady Rest Resort are well-spaced and have plenty of shade and grass. Each has its own picnic table, fire ring and access to the shower facilities. Seven sites are near the lake, three are near the on-site store, and eight are by the playground.

Accommodations at Shady Rest Resort consist of 12 cabins, a campground, and seasonal RV sites. All of the cabins are lakefront and have been recently renovated. They also come stocked with a full-kitchen, charcoal grill, air-conditioning, television, a private fire ring, and much more!
