The Watervale Historic District is a resort perfect for weddings! The Watervale Inn has hosted beautiful wedding ceremonies since 1933. Plan a romantic ceremony with the lake as your backdrop, Watervale Inn can host celebrations for up to 150 guests. Their terrace in front of the Inn is perfect for a lake-front wedding, and the Casino building is ideal for an indoor ceremony.

Watervale Inn's prime location brings you closer to nature adventures and recreation by the lake. The Lower Herring Lake is steps away from the Inn, and Lake Michigan is only 10 minutes walking distance from your accommodations, both offer opportunities to learn about the area's ecosystem. You can also visit the Arcadia Dunes and explore over 15 miles of trails!

Watervale Inn provides direct access to Lower Herring Lake. This lake is 450 acres in size and approximately 60 feet deep at its deepest point. Guests can enjoy water sports like kayaking and canoeing using the property's equipment without an extra charge. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including bluegill, northern pike, rainbow trout, rock bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, and yellow perch!

Watervale town was built by The Leo Hale Lumber Company back in 1892. After the lumber mill years, Dr. Oscar Kraft purchased what now is Watervale Inn in 1917, as a gathering spot for his extended family. The Watervale then became a summer resort with guest registers dating from 1918. Then, Dr. Kraft's niece, Vera and her husband Vernon Noble, purchased Watervale in 1960. Nowadays, Vera & Vernon's three children continue the tradition of bringing families together!

As part of their Watervale Inn stay, guests enjoy complimentary breakfast and dinner. Fresh farm eggs, Putney Farms maple syrup, Usingers bacon and sausages and home fried potatoes are part of a delicious breakfast at the Inn. Morning coffee, a variety of freshly squeezed juices, and fresh fruits are also available. Dinner time features a changing menu with a selection of three entrees, soup, salad and silver dessert tray. Also, every Wednesday the kitchen moves outside, and all Watervale guests enjoy a huge barbecue!
