Situated between the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers, Harpole's Heartland Lodge overlooks 1,200 acres of rolling hills and panoramic views. Explore the many walking, ATV, and horseback riding trails that crisscross the property. Or watch the finches, woodpeckers, and eagles; Harpole's maintains a prairie restoration program to keep them thriving.

Fishing at nearby Pittsfield Lake is a favorite among fisherman staying at the lodge. Enjoy this 200 acre lake surrounded by 480 acres of recreational land that the public can use. This lake has great crappie fishing in the spring and is also stocked with Bass, Bluegill, Walleye, and Stripers. Fishing at Pittsfield Lake is self guided, so bring your fishing poles and tackle. There is a bait shop in Pittsfield. There are also two fishing ponds located at the OHV park. Fishing is all catch and release for these two ponds. Both ponds are not easily accessible by walking. The use of an ATV or UTV is recommended (Our ATV & UTV rentals are not available to access the fishing ponds). A state OHV sticker and ATV day pass are required to access the OHV park. Both are sold at Heartland Lodge. Catch bass, bluegill and crappie in our scenic ponds!
