Lakeshore Resort was established in 1922 and sits on 32 acres of forest, nestled off the main road. Popularly known as the "best kept secret in the Sierras," Huntington Lake is at an elevation of 7,000 feet and provides fantastic opportunities for both swimming and fishing. Concerned about privacy? Don't be. This area is undeveloped, and is surrounded by forests, lakes, streams, waterfalls, granite rock formations and views that will take your breath away. Short day trips to the high country offer plenty of options, whether that be fishing, hiking, or just taking in the beauty!
There are dozens of fun ways for families to spend their time here! Take a refreshing dip in any of the alpine lakes, cast a line and do some fishing, or just take a boat tour around the shoreline. The shore of Huntington Lake has a roped off area for swimmers to enjoy the cool water on hot days. And the accommodations aren't too bad, either!

Clean, cozy and quaint, the cabins at Lakeshore Resort offer couples the experience of nature without having to give up a hot shower or warm bed. There are no TV's or telephones in the cabins here--instead you have Mother Nature and each other to keep each other company. Cabins do provide indoor plumbing, electricity, hot water and heat by propane wall heaters, so they remain cozy throughout the year. They're the perfect place to kick back on a weekend getaway with your sweetheart!
Visit the area's mountainous backcountry for spectacular views, particularly from White Bark Vista at the top of Kaiser Pass. If hiking is your vice, take a trip to Muir Trail Ranch for areal highcountry adventure. Meanwhile, the rugged mountain terrain makes for superb mountain biking opportunities. Take a trip around the lake or head to the high country for more challenging courses!
In addition to Huntington, there are many beautiful lakes in the area. Some are at lower elevations, while others are located in the high country. Of note, Bass Lake id nestled among tall pine trees and provides opportunities for camping, boating, swimming, fishing and picnicking. Meanwhile Black Rock Reservoir offers un-crowded fishing and camping opportunities.
Lakeshore Resort Huntington Lake features a selection of charming cabins that date back to the 1920s-1940s. They offer a more rustic-style of living as they do not include televisions or telephones. However, they are ideally equipped with indoor plumbing, electricity, hot water and heat by propane wall heaters to ensure your comfort and convenience! - All Year
