Charlton's Banff has a rich history that dates back to the late 1940s. Elmer Charlton purchased a stretch of land on Banff Avenue in 1948, where he cleared and built 20 pan-a-bode Cedar Court cabins which was later taken over by his son in 1966. Gary Charlton and his wife, Linda, eventually removed seven of the cabins and constructed a new 20-unit complex instead, and it's this new Charlton's Cedar Court that became the first year-round tourist accommodation in all of Banff. They later removed the last original cabins to build a 43-unit complex. Today the property continues to welcome travelers of all kinds to enjoy a relaxing and historic vacation experience!
