The Summer Season Shines at The Snowpine Lodge

With a name like The Snowpine Lodge, you’d expect a winter retreat complete with powdery ski slopes, snow-crowned mountains, and a crackling fire pit. And, during the snowy season, you’d be absolutely correct. However, once the summer sun peeks through, things really start to heat up.

Open for its very first summer season, this Alta, Utah utopia urges you to trade in your snow boots for a pair of hiking boots. Whether you came to sample the delectable dining, soak in the breathtaking natural scenes, or relax on a group getaway, this is the lodge for you.

Satisfy your stomach at the onsite restaurant, which serves dinner on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings and breakfast on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. With delicious dishes like pan-seared sea scallops, succulent pork tenderloin, and smoked salmon, this kitchen is really spicing up the Alta food scene. Lager lovers and ale advocates can find the perfect match at the June 14th Epic Beer Pairing Dinner, where mouth-watering meals of braised pork belly and spring lamb are paired with award-winning Epic beers to create an intoxicating event.

“I am excited about being open for business this summer,” Snowpine Lodge General Manager Dave Eichel said. “I am especially looking forward to our weekend dinners. There are not many options up here in Alta during the summer, and we have fantastic food and an amazing view. I think we have a hit on our hands.”

A huge reason for the success is the chef behind the cuisine, Nate Nagy. With patrons raving about his savory creations over the winter, the executive chef is excited to unveil his summer dishes.

“The Salt Lake area has an exciting food scene with plenty of exceptional local purveyors,” Nagy said. “I am eager to use some of these great products in my summer menus.”

With great products comes great scenery. Perched atop Little Cottonwood Canyon, this Southwestern sanctuary showcases ruggedly beautiful mountain views, wildflower-carpeted valleys, and towering pine trees. And, since the resort rests above the desert, the temperature is a comfortable 20 degrees cooler than the sweltering Salt Lake Valley.

Perfect temperatures allow for a bevy of outdoor adventures. Scenic hiking is available just outside your door, mountain activities are just a short walk away, and fish-filled lakes are just over the horizon.

There’s also plenty to do onsite. The newly renovated lodge plays host to meetings, retreats, and family reunions from June 6th to October 12th. Make your dream wedding a reality at this lodge, which can cater intimate receptions of up to 50 guests. Dance the night away in the 40-foot heated tent, which adds more potential party space. And, you’ll be pampered by the peaks with amenities like a spa treatment room, a hot tub, and a fire pit.

Featuring a fantastic restaurant, stunning mountain scenery, and a wealth of group activities, the summer season shines at The Snowpine Lodge.
