The biggest draw to Western Pleasure is their fantastic horseback riding. It is a ranch, after all. While getting up on a big horse and trusting it to not throw you off can be intimidating, Western Pleasure’s friendly staff are experts in making the horse rides accessible to all ages and skill levels. New riders begin the week with short orientation, where the wranglers introduce you to your horse for the week and offer advice on how to ride.
Rides take place each day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. You’ll explore the majestic north Idaho mountains, valleys, and meadows around the ranch, accompanied by the gentle clip-clop of the horse beneath you. Special trips include a full day’s ride to Grouse Creek Falls for some swimming, and a special dinner ride (featuring campfire grilled, ranch raised beef steak). Of course, Mother Nature isn’t always cooperative, and if that's the case, you’ll still have a great time in the 70′ by 100′ indoor arena.
While the headliner is horseback riding, that doesn’t mean Western Pleasure lacks other things to do. Far from it! Guests can grab a shotgun and try their hand at some clay-pigeon shooting, 
or challenge a nearby mountain on a rented bike. With more than 1,100 acres on the property, there’s almost no limit to trails the savvy adventurer can explore. If you prefer a more laid-back experience, those same trails are also available to hikers. Go whatever pace you like, while stopping to enjoy the native flora and fauna of northern Idaho.
