The Hotel was built in 1927 as a retreat for artists and Hollywood Stars by councilman William Riddle. Howard Hughes and Paul Getty reportedly played backgammon in the Lobby… When you walk into the Lobby you will be pleasantly surprised by the European decor which is evident throughout the Hotel and by the fine antique furnishings. The original oil paintings that adorn the walls in the Hotel including the rooms are an exquisite addition.
